Heat up your performance!

Heat up your performance!

By now you should know it’s a good idea to warm up before exercising and playing sports. But do you know exactly why?

According to the American Heart Association: “A good warm-up dilates your blood vessels, ensuring that your muscles are well supplied with oxygen. It also raises your muscles’ temperature for optimal flexibility and efficiency. By slowly raising your heart rate, the warm-up also helps minimize stress on your heart.”

Johnny Lee, M.D., cardiologist at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and the president of New York Heart Associates, is more blunt: “Warming up before any workout or sport is critical for preventing injury and prepping your body.”

OK, now you know you should warm up. What’s the best way to do it? That’s where Lipp Sports comes in. Our Sports Injury Prevention Program — better known as SIPP — will show you the way.

What is SIPP?
We incorporate cutting-edge technology to design a SIPP regimen specifically around your needs. We measure your level of physical ability, including any asymmetries and dysfunctions, with 100 LED sensors and two real-time cameras on our 1,600 square feet of turf. Then we create a full program tailored to your body, including the best ways to warm up, the correct movements during your exercise routine and how to cool-down.

Who should use SIPP?
SIPP is designed for anyone looking to get the maximum out of their body and we regularly see athletes of all levels, from professional to high school. SIPP is especially effective at helping reinforce correct movement patterns. Through SIPP, we’ve seen dramatic improvements in running, jumping, cutting, balance and reaction time. Perhaps most important, it also helps to prevent injuries.
