About LIPP Institute Sports

The LIPP Institute Sports Method

At LIPP Institute Sports, we help our clients first understand why they are experiencing suboptimal performance. Based on our assessment, we’ll create a program to optimize performance while reducing risk of injury.

HOW We’re Different     •    WHO we TRAIN     •    Our Team

How We’re Different

LIPP Institute Sports is not like other sports performance facilities because of our experience, technology and innovation. We are a team of medical professionals, athletic trainers, personal trainers and yoga instructors with a wide array of experience from actually playing to training athletes of all levels from junior to professional.

First, we always do an assessment to appreciate our clients current capacity, so we’ll never introduce too much load which significantly reduces risk of injury. Injuries occur when one’s tissue doesn’t have the capacity to tolerate a specific load, like too much weight.

Second, we create a program that addresses your weakest links. As everyone knows, you’re only as strong as your weakest link. So, we eliminate all weak links. These weak links create compensatory patterns which overload structures which will create pain and inefficiency. Pain and inefficiency leads to suboptimal performance, so why have these weak links if you don’t have to?

Third, we use technology that is so state-of-the-art that is rare to find regionally. Also, we train using unique and innovative methods of which most are proprietary.

Last, we provide you homework you can do between your training sessions to help you retain the proper motor pathways you learned.

Who We Train

Below are the labs that we offer and who use them:

The LIPP Institute Sports’ Golf Lab is used by golfers of every level from the amateur looking to shave some strokes off of their handicap to the PGA Tour Professional.

The LIPP Institute Sports’ Run Lab is used by runners of every level from the professional to the avid player to someone just looking to impress their boss at the corporate 5K.

Running is one of the most injury prone sports there is — by one estimate nearly 80% of runners suffer some form of injury every year. When you are conditioning yourself for a big race, the last thing you need is yet another injury slowing you down.

LIPP Institute Sports has developed proven techniques that can get runners back on the road for problems from hamstrings to shin splints to plantar fasciitis and beyond. Through years of working with runners, we have a refined process that is fast and effective at getting you back running, faster and with less effort. We also have our own proprietary running technique that can protect your body and shave minutes off the times of even the most seasoned long-distance runners.

The LIPP Institute Sports’ Walk/Balance Lab is a combination of our Walk Lab and Balance Lab. The Walk Lab component is used by walkers of every level from the competitive marathon walkers to the professional travelers to those who just like to enjoy an evening stroll with less effort. Our competitive golfers (who don’t use a golf cart) also can greatly benefit from learning how to walk more efficiently and save their energy for their golf.

The Balance Lab component also helps those athletes with sports that require a lot of balance and proprioception. It also can help our older community who are experiencing falls due to a lack of stability.

The LIPP Institute Sports’ Athlete Lab is used by athletes of every level from the professionals to the juniors to anyone just looking to be more athletic and efficient. It helps retrain efficient biomechanics for athletes who need to be more versatile with lateral and vertical movements while reducing risk of injury.
The LIPP Institute Sports’ Sports Injury Prevention Program (SIPP Lab) is used by athletes of every level from the professional to the junior player to the weekend warrior getting ready for a ski trip. It provides a thorough warm-up that we’ll recommend that you do before your sport and conditions your body to help prevent injuries. There are common muscle imbalances that are associated with the most common injuries. We help correct those muscular imbalances to prevent those injuries from occurring or reoccurring.
LIPP Institute Sports’ Functional Motion Training (FMT) Lab is a personal training solution to provide a safe, comprehensive way to work out and achieve a strong, functional and balanced body. It ‘s great for everyone from the elite athlete looking to prevent injury to the grandparent who wants to be able to play on the floor with their grandchildren and be able to get back on their feet without pain or struggle.

Our Functional Intensity Training (FIT) Lab is our form of intensity training. It’s essentially our beefed up version of the FMT Lab that allows you to burn more calories by introducing more cardio and resistance. It’s perfect for those who are looking to shed extra pounds without getting hurt. As safety is our number one priority, we require clients to experience the FMT Lab prior to starting the FIT Lab program.

The LIPP Institute Sports’ Yoga Lab is used by yogies of every level from the master level to the novice who are looking to continue doing yoga without injury.

The flexibility, mobility, and strength developed doing the LIPP Institute Yoga Lab can enhance your body or sport to the next level.

This private class is custom designed to meet your health and fitness needs. We start by evaluating any physical limitations you possess and addressing physical goals you are striving for. We accomplish this by focusing on what aspects of yoga you enjoy. If you are overcoming injuries or ailments, our yoga class assists in your recovery by cultivating a safe workout.

LIPP Yoga has many benefits and one we are particularly fond of is its ability to aid in correcting muscular imbalances. A well-rounded yoga practice involves using all the muscles in a variety of ways and poses. Yoga is one of the best forms of active recovery as it increases mindful self-awareness of what’s going on in your body and mind. By becoming more self-aware, you can grow your body’s inner ability to listen and re-adjust to signals of pain and discomfort. Yoga also teaches you how to honor your body’s limits and safely push outside of your current comfort-zone without running the risks of injury or burnout. We don’t forget about the powerful relaxation aspect of yoga! Namaste!
